A liquid-cooled diesel engine is described, with a coolant passage arranged in the cylinder head, which passage has a receiving bore passing through it for the injection nozzle, the nozzle holder of which, together with the receiving bore, encloses a first ring passage, sealed off from the outside, through which coolant flows. In order to improve the nozzle cooling, the first ring passage encloses a second ring passage, defined by the nozzle holder and the nozzle body inserted into this, which second passage is connected to the first ring passage by way of overflow bores arranged on the nozzle holder on the admission and discharge side.
