My invention is concerned with an automatically lighting brake light which, in the event of a braking process, triggers the contact, by way of a gravitational movement, to issue a visual braking indication. For all vehicles which are not equipped with a brake light indicator, the device can be retro-fitted as an accessory. In the event of braking, a gravitational force contact maker which is located in a housing triggers, by means of a current source, be it a dynamo or battery, a brake light to light up. In today's road traffic, all vehicles which have not already been equipped with a brake indicator are at a disadvantage since they cannot indicate their braking process visually. It is advantageous for the safety of all road users for every cyclist to have indicated to him the braking of his vehicle via a brake light. The costs are very low in comparison with the benefits.
