PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a thyristor controller by detecting a defective pulse phase by the malfunction of a circuit from the output of a pulse phase shifter to a pulse amplifier of a standby redundancy configuration. CONSTITUTION:A synchronous machine 1 is operated by automatic voltage regulators 7, 8 of redundancy configuration of normal and standby systems. The both regulators 7, 8 are formed in redundancy configuration from voltage setters 9, 10 to pulse phase shifters 15, 16 for generating phase pulses in accordance with calculated data. A pulse amplifier 30 is composed commonly for both, and a gate signal is applied to a thyristor rectifier 3. In this case, defective pulse detectors 31-33 are respectively provided in pulse amplifiers 21-23, and when one or more amplifiers become pulse defective, it is judged as a defect of the amplifier itself, and when all the detectors 31-33 are operated, a converter 19 is, for example, judged as defective, and switched to a standby system. |
