PURPOSE:To stably recognize a lead of an electronic parts with no influence of the rotation of an IC having the lead, the deformation of the lead tip, etc., by using and recognizing the IC contour line, a corner of the tip part of the IC lead and a root corner of the IC lead. CONSTITUTION:The image of an IC 11 having the lead is converted into video signals by a CCD camera 13 and stored in a binary picture frame memory 16 via a binary circuit 15 of an IC lead recognizing device 14. An arithmetic part 17 refers to a contour point table 18 to store the contour data on a pattern in a work memory 19 in the form of a table. Based on this contour point data table, the part 17 extracts a corner and detects/recognizes the lead. The corner is extracted by making use of only the direction change of the contour line. While the tip of the IC lead is detected by means of a proper corner produced at the lead tip part. Then the length and the angle of the IC lead are obtained when a root corner of the IC lead is detected. |
