PURPOSE:To produce assist force optimal for travel state by controlling rotation of power steering motor through control signal for variable damper for varying suspension characteristic thereby controlling assist force for power steering. CONSTITUTION:Left/right motion of rack 6 gearing with a pinion 5 to be rotated by a steering wheel 1 will cause to vary the steering angle of steering wheels 10a, 10b while a power cylinder 11 including a piston 11c fixed to the rack 6 will assist the steering force. Oil chambers 11a, 11b in power cylinder 11 are coupled through pipings 12a, 12b and a control valve 13 to a hydraulic pump 14b which is driven by a motor 14a. Rotation of said motor 14a is controlled simultaneously by a controller 30 through control of suspension characteristic in accordance to travel state to be obtained from outputs from car speed sensor 31, steering angle sensor 32, etc. |
