A non-woven fabric support is used, e.g. of viscose rayon, a polyester or polyolefin, which has pores at least 50% of which penetrate through the fabric, the proportion of the area of the penetrating pores per area of the fabric being at least 20%, the average opening area of the penetrating pores being at least 0.001 mm<2>, and the weight of the fabric is 50 g/m<2> or less. The fabric may be resin treated. A single coating of a pressure-sensitive adhesive (e.g. acrylic or rubber-based) solution or aqueous dispersion is formed on the inside or both sides of the fabric to a solids content of 10 - 300 g/m<2>, and the coating is dried. The resultant double sided adhesive tape has uniform thickness and does not delaminate or suffer gapping.
