Electrolytes.-An electrolyte for a battery particularly of the kind described in Specification 320,916 in which zinc is deposited on the cathode during charging, consists of a solution of the chlorides and bromides of zinc and potassium together with hydrochloric acid and an organic acid or salt such as acetic acid or zinc or potassium acetate. A small quantity of size or glue may be added, and also a small quantity of mercuric chloride to assist in the amalgamation of the cathode. |
