PURPOSE:To prevent the electrodes on the outer peripheral surface of a discharge tube from being bedewed and to make a normal laser oscillation execute by providing an external heating unit on the outside of the discharge tube. CONSTITUTION:Discharge electrodes 2 and 3 are tightly adhered on the outer surface of a dielectric discharge tube 1 and the outsides of the electrodes 2 and 3 are surrounded with a duct 10. A warm-air heater 11 is installed at the entrance part of the duct 10. When the warm-air heater 11 is driven, warm air is supplied to the peripheries of the electrodes 2 and 3 and the outer peripheries of the electrodes 2 and 3 are heated up and dried. According to this constitution, damage to a laser due to abnormal discharge at the starting time can be prevented. Moreover, if heat dissipation from the aircooled motor attached to the laser is utilized, the prevention of bedewing can be simply executed by just providing newly the duct. |
