PURPOSE:To increase the speed of the weld sealing of hollow screen rods and obtain a completely sealed rod having excellent sealed form, by passing both ends of a reed screen composed of parallelly arranged synthetic resin hollow screen rods through a weld-sealing zone composed of a pair of metal resistant heaters placed to both sides of the zone. CONSTITUTION:Hollow screen rods 9 made of a synthetic resin are knit with knitting yarns 7, and the produced reed screen 6 is placed on the center table of an apparatus for sealing both ends of the reed screen and passed through the weld-sealing zone constructed of a pair of heating members 1. Both ends of each screen rod 9 are introduced into the grooves 10 of the heating members 1, slidden in the groove under pressure and sealed at 400-750 deg.C. The holes at both ends of the hollow screen rod can be sealed completely with little stringing. |
