PURPOSE:To efficiently produce an amino acid from the corresponding N- carbamylamino acid, by adding the N-carbamylamino acid to the cultured product of a transformant transformed with a recombinant DNA containing the gene of an enzyme which acts on the N-carbamylamino acid to convert the N-carbamylamino acid into the corresponding amino acid. CONSTITUTION:A host strain selected from microorganisms belonging to Escherichia genus, Pseudomonas genus, Bacillus genus or the like is transformed with a recombinant DNA (e.g. plasmid PUC18HA3) produced by ligating a vector DNA to a DNA fragment (preferably originated from a bacterium belonging to Flavobacterium genus, Pseudomonas genus or Bacillus genus) containing a gene relating to an enzyme which acts on an N-carbamylamino acid to convert the N-carbamylamino acid into the corresponding amino acid. The transformant produced by the above process is aerobically cultured in a nutritive medium at 4-8pH and 25-45 deg.C and the N-carbamylamino acid is added to the cultured product to produce and accumulate the corresponding amino acid in the aqueous medium.
|
