The hinge, for use on closures of deeply inset containers or packaging, for example, has the two parts of the hinge provided with at least two joints articulated in the direction of the main geometric axis. At least one of these is an intermediate element hinged to the two parts by film hinges which slide away in mutual removal so that the intermediate element extends along the main axis. Two intermediate elements can be turned towards each other by their wide or narrow ends. The folding effect is reinforced by making the hinge components, either the wall parts or the intermediate elements, elastic.
