PURPOSE:To decrease the number of parts and to reduce the time of manufacture, by securing the connection through inserting the projections of a lid of a battery jar into lead parts of a battery jar while applying an ultrasonic wave, as well as contacting the projections to the lead parts, when the lid of the battery jar is welded to the battery jar by an ultrasonic wave. CONSTITUTION:A lid of a battery 13 is placed on the battery jar 1, and an ultrasonic vibration is applied while pressing the jar lid 13 by an ultrasonic vibrator. As a result, the jar 1 and the jar lid 13 are heat-welded by forming the welds between the peripheral wall and partition walls 2 of the jar 1, and hanging partition walls 14 of the jar lid 13. At the same time, by inserting projections 17 of the jar lid 13 to straps 9 with electrode poles which are softer than the projections 17, and by inserting the contact members 18 of the jar lid 13 to the connections 11 between cells, the connection between the jar lid 13 and the jar 1 is secured. After that, by welding a terminal 8 to an electrode pole 16, filling a binder 19 around the weld, and also giving some specific treatments, an enclosed type lead storage battery is produced. Therefore, the number of parts is decreased, and the time of manufacture is reduced. |
