<p>PURPOSE:To improve safety and response, by a method wherein, in a device which controls a transmission gear ratio according to a deviation between the target number of revolutions of an engine and the detected number of revolutions of an engine is increased, the more a gain of a rate of a change in a transmission gear ratio is decreased. CONSTITUTION:During running of an engine, a control circuit 40 determines the target number of revolutions of an engine based on a predetermined map in response to an output signal from a throttle opening sensor St. A deviation between the target number of revolutions of an engine and the number of revolutions of an engine detected by an engine rotation sensor Sn is then determined. After the deviation is amplified to an output voltage by means of a given gain, it is applied on a control valve 29 through an amplifier 48. The valve 29 is switched and controlled, and the angle of the cam plate of a varying volume type hydraulic motor 4 is controlled with the aid of an actuator 19 to control a gear ratio of a continuously variable transmission. In this case, the more the detected number of revolutions of an engine is increased, the more the gain is decreased, and the detected number of revolutions is decreased, the more the gain is increased.</p> |
