PURPOSE:To prevent the inside of a machine body from being stained with a scattered developer by providing a developer receiving pan under the joining part between a cleaner means or developing means and a detachable developer returning means. CONSTITUTION:A right cover 43 which is freely opened and closed is provided on the right flank of the main printer body of a laser printer and a toner returning means 68 which is attachable to and detachable from the main printer body is fitted inside the cover 43 and equipped with a toner reception part (joining part) 90 and a toner discharge part (joining part) 91. When the cover 43 is closed, the reception part 90 is positioned on the reverse surface side of the toner discharge part of a cleaning device and faces a toner discharge opening, and the discharging part 91 is positioned above the developer storage part of a developing device and faces a toner reception opening. Receiving pans 192 and 193 for toner are provided detachably under the reception part 90 and discharge part 91 of the cover 43 to collect toner which is scattered to fall according to the movement of the joining parts 90 and 91 when the cover 43 is opened and closed. |
