A variable-speed pulley, and more particularly a long-life variable-speed pulley capable of improving the reliability and endurance of a slide mechanism, which consists of a key unit and a lubricating unit, and suitably used for a belt transmission having constant output characteristics. A slide mechanism between a shaft (11) of a first conical wheel (14) and a cylinder (16) of a second conical wheel (18) has a key unit a high-precision extension key device capable of inserting an extension key (20) from one open end of a key way (11d, 16b) thereinto so as to extend in the direction parallel to the rotary axis, or/and as lubricating unit a lubricating device in which the air and a lubricating oil (30) are confined in a sealed space (22) in which the volume of the portion thereof which is between the cylinder (16) and a shaft (11) varies as the cylinder (16) moves slidingly on the shaft (11), the air being allowed to communicate (36, 37, 38) with the outside air so that the lubricating oil (30) is deposited centrifugally at all times on slide surfaces (11a, 16a) during the rotation of the shaft (11). |
