<p>PURPOSE:To increase the rate of recovery of zinc from zinc dust by mixing the zinc dust with a fixed quantity of NH4Cl and/or fume dust produced during hot dip galvanizing and by pressing the mixture into a molten zinc bath in the form of solid matter or powder. CONSTITUTION:Zinc dust is uniformly mixed with a fixed quantity of NH4Cl and/or fume dust produced during hot dip galvanizing and the mixture is charged into a screw conveyor 4 from the charge hole 8. At the same time, the screw 9 is rotated by driving a motor 5 to press the mixture into a hot bath of molten zinc 2 through a nozzle 6. The mixture is melted in a net 7 in the bath without rising, an oxide film is melted by the action of NH4Cl and only serum rises through the mesh of the net 7. Thus, metallic zinc in the zinc dust escapes from the oxide film and all of the metallic zinc is automati cally transferred to the molten zinc 2 and recovered.</p> |
