REFORMING DEVICE FOR FUEL BATTERY

PURPOSE:To permit easy exchange of granular catalysts and to prevent the splashing and uneven presence thereof by vibration, etc., by providing a cap having a porous structure freely attachably and detachably to the outlet side of a catalyst bed and retaining the cap toward the inside of the catalyst bed by fixtures extending from the outside. CONSTITUTION:A supporting plate 10 having the porous structure is provided to the lower inlet side of the catalyst bed 6 of a fuel reforming device for fuel batteries and the cap 11 having the porous structure is provided to the other upper outlet side as well. The cap 11 is made into freely attachable and detachable constitution by which the cap can be freely fitted to a reaction tube 6 and can be removed upward. Springs 12 which act as the fixtures are interposed between such cap 11 and an upper case 13 to press the cap 11 under specified elastic force toward the catalyst bed 6. The granular catalysts are easily exchanged by removing the cap 11. The splashing or uneven presence of the granular catalysts is obviated with such reforming device even if the device is subjected to vibration or impact during transportation. The specified packing density is thus maintained and the good reforming reaction is effected.
