PURPOSE:To facilitate the alignment of a light emitting element and a light receiving element and to prevent the interference onto a transmission/reception section due to the scattering of light by mating a cylindrical projection provided to a transmission section with a cylindrical guide provided to a reception section so as to connect the transmission section and the reception section. CONSTITUTION:The connector 10 for optical communication consists of the cylindrical projection 11 provided to the transmission section of opto/electric signal converters 4a, 4b and the cylindrical guide 12 provided to the reception section of the opto/electric signal converters 4a, 4b and has a structure to connect the transmission section and the reception section by mating the cylindrical projection 11 to the cylindrical guide 12. Then a light reflecting film 13 is formed in the inner face of the cylindrical projection 11 by vapor deposition or the like, and an optical signal sent from an LED 8 is propagated while being reflected on the light reflecting film 13 to a photo transistor (TR) 9, on which the light is made incident at every angle. |
