PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to newly and individually generate printing programs in case of printing of multimedium data different in layout by determining the print layout in the conversational system. CONSTITUTION:A layout editing mechanism 7 controls input/output of layout information based on conversation with a terminal 10. Sentence names of sentences to be edited which are stored in a sentence data file 2 are designated and their contents are displayed, and layout positions, sizes, medium types, index names, issue numbers, etc., of sentences, graphics, images, etc., are designated, and layout contents are displayed and layout information is stored in a layout information file 5. A print data processing mechanism 8 generates print data where graphic data and image data are laid out on sentence data in accordance with layout information stored in the layout information file 5. That is, layout information indicated by a terminal coordinate system is converted to a printer coordinate system in accordance with the character size designated in the print format. |
