<p>Two areas (11, 12) with a non-preloaded layer of magnetoelastic Fe/Ni material are arranged on a shaft (10). The layers have a striated pattern formed under +45° and -45°. The permeability changes of these layers depend from the mechanical strain on the shafts (10), especially torsional stresses, measured by sensors (13 and 14). A specially designed evaluation circuit (22) and an appropriate coating make it possible to obtain a characteristic curve for mechanical stress that runs linearly across the whole measurement area. Processes for applying the non-preloaded layers are also disclosed.</p> |
