PURPOSE:To carry out a hysteresis control in an easy and rapid way, by a method wherein driving for one line is dividedly conducted in a plurality of blocks and the blocks of the predetermined number are combined to conduct a a recording per block successively according to image signals or hysteresis controlling signals and a similar recording is sequentially conducted for all the one line in every combined blocks. CONSTITUTION:Image signals for two lines are stored in a memory 53. Image signals for a present line and a preceding line are read from the memory 53 and are converted in a hysteresis judgement circuit 54 so that a recording is carried out only when the present line is black picture elements and the preceding line is white picture elements, and all the image signals for one line are transferred to a shift register 59 for a thermal head 57 as image signals SiN. A strobe signal STB is outputted from a memory control part 73, and the transferred image signal SiN is latched. After time image signal SiN is latched, an applied pulse ENB 1 having a pulse width T2 for driving a first block of a heating element array 68 is outputted from an applied pulse width generation circuit 72 to record the first 1/4 line. Successively, in a similar way, applied pulse ENBs 2-4 having a pulse width T2 are outputted to record the 2nd-4th 1/4 lines, thus a recording for the one line is completed. |
