In order to improve a blocking device for doors, consisting of a lock arranged on the inside of the door wing and having a key-actuable lock cylinder and having two oppositely directed, longitudinally displaceably guided espagnolettes, the free end parts of which are respectively designed to be engageable into a lock plate or the like arranged on the door frame, the espagnolettes being designed so as, in a manner actuable by the lock cylinder, to be adjustable towards one another or away from one another in the manner of a rack mechanism, in such a way that the lock can be fitted with lock cylinders with any angular position of the locking bit in the 0-position, the gearwheel (15) engaging into the racks (16) is assigned a further gearwheel (14) which can be set in rotation by the locking bit (8) of the lock cylinder (3), and the two abovementioned gearwheels (14 and 15) are connected to one another by means of a releasable shaft coupling. <IMAGE>
