In a self-guiding system, using a wheel (7, 7') mounted on a rail (8), for a vehicle fitted with guiding wheels (9) equipped with pneumatic tyres (5), the shimmy-like periodic phenomena can be eliminated up to operating speeds in excess of at least 80 km/h. This is achieved by locating between the guiding wheels (4) and the rail (8), a mechanical decoupling system which gives the guiding wheels (4) the freedom to be deflected through a predetermined angle in relation to the set deflection angle imposed by the rail (8). |
