Spring brake cylinder with mechanical release device

The spring brake cylinder has a mechanical release device which contains a non-selflocking screw drive 11, 12 in the transmission path of the application force. The torque of the screw drive 11, 12 is transmitted via an axially non-displaceable, rotatable spring plate 8 to a rotary drive 25 which can be locked at least in the direction of rotation corresponding to relaxation of the energy storage spring 6. The rotary drive 25 can be rotated at will at least in the direction of compression of the energy storage spring 6 and, in the opposite direction of rotation, it can likewise be rotated at will and/or be designed so that its locking action can be disabled at will. The design of the rotary drive 25 allows mechanical reapplication of the brakes following a mechanical release. <IMAGE>
