PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having an improved sharpness by incorporating a prescribed amount of a plane plate like silver halide emulsion to the titled material, and also by incorporating one kind of the compd. capable of cleaving a developing controller by reacting a compd. cleaved after reacting with the oxidant of an developing agent, with the oxidant of an another 1mol of the developing agent, to the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The plane-like silver halide emulsion in which at least 50% the total project area of the silver halide emulsion powder is the mean aspect ratio of >=(5:1), is incorporated to the titled emulsion. The titled material contains at least one kind of the compd. capable of cleaving the developing controller by reacting the compd. cleaved after reacting it with the oxidant of the developing agent, with the oxidant of the another one molecule of the developing agent. Said plane like silver halide powder has a particle diameter having >=5 times the thickness of the powder, and the diameter of said powder is 0.2-20mu, preferably, 0.3-10.0mu. The usable plane like silver halide powder is exemplified by preferably, a silver iodobromide contg. <=15mol% silver bromide and silver iodide respectively or a silver chloroiodobromide having <=50mol% silver chloride and <=2mol% silver iodide, and silver chlorobromide. Thus, the titled material having improved image quality and stability of the processing solution is obtd. |
