PURPOSE:To increase the quantity of light outside an image area corresponding to maximum original width in reduction copying mode by setting the width of an exposure adjusting plate equal to or nearly equal to the maximum original width, forming a gap part by the exposure adjusting plate, and allowing light from a light source to leak from the gap part. CONSTITUTION:The part positioned outside the maximum original width (l) between both ends of the exposure adjusting plate 30 is removed to make the width of the exposure adjusting plate 30 equal to or nearly equal to the maximum original width (l), and light from the light source 27 which leaks from gap parts S and S formed by the exposure adjusting plate 30 illuminates a white part 3a outside the maximum original width (l) of an originlal presser 3. Therefore, the width of the exposure adjusting plate 30 is equal to or nearly equal to the maximum original width (l) and the conventional part exceeding the maximum original width of the exposure adjusting plate is cut. Therefore, the parts Y between the end parts of the image formation width X and electrostatic discharging lamps 14b in a lighting state on a photosensitive body 12 are irradiated with much light reflected by the white part 3a of the original presser 3. Therefore, the parts Y outside the image formation width X are securely discharged electrostatically and no gray stripe part is formed outside the image. |
