PURPOSE:To perform level detection without any individual difference by comparing respective clocking results, classifying the comparison results into a range larger than an upper-limit value, a range between the upper limit value and a lower-limit value, and a range smaller than the lower-limit value, and displaying the results when the sum of the counted numbers of results in the respective ranges reaches a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The time T from the point of time when the output of a detecting means 1 changes from 'presence' to 'absence' to the next point of switching from 'absence' to 'presence' varies with the amount of a developer supplied to a developing device 11. Namely, when the set amount of the developer is smaller than a specific value, the time T is longer than the upper-limit value T1 and when larger, the time T becomes shorter that the lower-limit value T2. For the purpose, the time T after the supply of the developer is clocked repeatedly specific times N, and how many times the result is in the ranges of T>T1, T1>=T>=T2, and T<T2 is counted by a counting means 4 and displayed on a display means 5. When the number of times of the range of T1>=T>=T2 is maximum, the set value of the developer is proper and when the number of times of the range T>T1 is maximum, the amount of the developer is deficient; and when the number of times of the range T<T2 is maximum, the amount of the developer is too large. Consequently, the set amount of the developer is determined without any individual difference. |
