PURPOSE:To previously prevent damage such as, for example, breakage in a valve chamber due to an undesirable compression level, by performing phase control for alternate voltage fed to a vibration type compressor in accordance with, for example, the atmospheric temperature of a cooling unit and/or the temperature of an evaporator. CONSTITUTION:A vibration type compressor 100 compresses gas coolant which is then fed to a condenser 200 for cooling and partly liquefying the gas coolant. The gas coolant passes through a strainer 300 and a capillary tube 400 and is finally subjected to adiabatic expansion in an evaporator 500. A phase control circuit 700 performs phase control for alternate voltage which is generated from an inverter circuit 600 and fed to the vibration type compressor 100. Such a phase control is carried out in accordance with the atmospheric temperature of a cooling unit, a temperature drop of the evaporator 500 and/or the voltage of a DC electrical power source 800, so that the piston stroke of the compressor is decreased, thereby breakage in a valve chamber due to increase in the piston stroke is prevented when the voltage of the DC electrical power source is high. |
