PURPOSE:To make it possible to use as positive active material of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery by anodically oxidizing nickel hydroxide in an aqueous lithium hydroxide solution or aqueous alkaline solution containing lithium. CONSTITUTION:For example, 5-50mum nickel hydroxide powder is accommodated in a nickel mesh container, and anodically oxidized in a 4.5M aqueous lithium hydroxide solution by using a nickel plate as a counter electrode at a specified current, and the product obtained is washed with hot water, then dried to obtain a positive active material. By using nickel hydroxide containing cobalt, the effect is further increased. |
