PURPOSE:To stabilize the casting operation and to improve the quality of cast slab by arranging a step part in a brake ring, etc., and also supporting the brake ring to a mold as hanging it by the step part at the time of drawing the cast slab. CONSTITUTION:The brake ring 40 composing of a refractory material between a joining ring 39 and the mold 35 is arranged and also a cylinder part 40a and flange part 40b are formed in the ring 40, and the step parts are constituted by an outer circumference face 40c and the flange part 40b. Further, the ring 40 is inserted on the inner cylinder 41 by shrinkage fitting under consideration of thermal expansion. By this mechanism, at the time of drawing the cast slab, the brake ring 40 is hung by the formed step part and supported by the mold 35. Further, as the outer circumference face 40c of ring 40 and the inner circumference face 41c of mold 35 are arranged in parallel with the axial line, wear of the ring 40 is prevented. Therefore, the casting operation is stabilized and the quality of cast slab is improved. |
