PURPOSE:To prevent enclosure of impurities floated up on molten steel surface into a rotating body and to execute the sequence casting of cast strip without any surface crack by dividing the molten surface near the position contacting with at least the rotating body as long side face of the molten surface by a heat insulating body. CONSTITUTION:In a cast strip continuous caster using for example, one pair of rolls 9, 9 and one pair of short side molds 4, 5, the molten surface at the position brought at least the molten surface 10 into contact with the rolls 9 and near the position is divided by the heat insulating body 12. In this way, the enclosure of impurities, etc., floated up on the molten surface into the rolls 9 is prevented. Therefore, development of irregularity for the cast strip 7 surfaces, occurrence of cracking for the cast strip 7 surface and occurrence of breakout caused by irregular cooling of the cast strip 7 are eliminated. Further, as powders 11 are added at inside of the heat insulating body, oxidation of the molten surface is reduced and the pouring operation for a long time is executed, and so the sequence casting is executed. |
