PURPOSE:To accurately control the extent of insertion of a sucking body to a liquid and accurately detect the position of the liquid surface by oscillating the sample liquid in a sample vessel by an oscillation applying means. CONSTITUTION:The sucking body which is freely vertically moved by a vertical position control means is arranged above a sample vessel 52 where the sample liquid is stored, and the sample liquid can be sucked by a sucking means connected to the sucking body. The oscillation which is applied to the vessel 52 by an oscillation applying means 92 and is transmitted is detected as the voltage output of a piezoelectric element 101 provided in the sucking body or the sucking means. What the lower end of the sucking body is brought into contact with the liquid surface, the oscillation transmitted to the vessel 52 by the means 92 is transmitted to the sucking body through the sample liquid, and therefore, the element 101 receives this oscillation to generate a high output voltage. This voltage is detected to detect contacting between the sucking body and the sample liquid. Thus, between the sucking body and the sample liquid. Thus, contacting with the liquid surface is surely detected because oscillation transmission through bubbles and that through the liquid are greatly different from each other even if bubbles occur on the surface of the sample liquid. |
