POLYMERIC SOLID ELECTROLYTE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide a stable electrolyte exhibiting high ionic conductivity at room temperature and suitable as a material for cell and electronic device, by using a complex of polyethylene oxide and an alkali metal salt containing polyethylene glycol. CONSTITUTION:The objective solid electrolyte is composed of a polymer complex of polyethylene oxide and an alkali metal salt and containing a reaction product of polyethylene glycol and alkali metal. The complex can be produced by reacting an alkali metal with dehydrated polyethylene glycol, adding the resultant polyethylene glycol alkali metal complex to polyethylene oxide and reacting the mixture with an alkali metal salt. The content of polyethylene glycol is 10-70wt% based on the whole polymeric compounds.
