摘要 PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement of the efficiency of heat transfer to ink making the best use of the merits of a thermal electrostatic ink jet method, by a method wherein the open hole for flying ink is provided to the crest partition component on the recording sheet side of a head body and besides the electrode for application of current is arranged to the position corresponding to the ink unit area of the bottom partition component consisting of an organic resistant film thereby to heat the ink by application of current according to the information of a picture. CONSTITUTION:When a switching element 23 is turned on according to the information of the picture to be recorded, current is caused to flow to the organic resistant film part positioned between a corresponding current energizing electrode 21 and a return current energizing electrode 22 and a corresponding ink unit area is joined by a thermal signal to be heated. Then, this heated ink unit area turns capable of flying by the decrease in the viscosity and surface tension of the ink 3 and the increase in electric conductivity. Besides, when an electrostatic control pulse is applied to the electrode 32 for electrostatic induction of an electrostatic field forming means 6 synchronizing with the drive timing of a thermal signal application means 4, an electrostatic field is formed between the ink 3 facing a conductive layer 31 and the electrode 32 for electrostatic induction and the heated ink unit area flies toward a recording sheet 5 to be transferred by adhesion. Then, an ink dot is formed.
