NEW MATERIAL:Chloropolysporin A of formula [R1 is ristosamine; R2 is mannose; the other 3mol of neutral sugars are bonded to either OH groups (including phenolic OH) via glycoside bonds; 2mol of the neutral sugars are glucose and rhamnose) or its salt. Sulfate of chloropolysporin A has the follow ing physical and chemical properties. Nature, water-soluble ampholytic white powder; [alpha]D<22>=-63.0 deg. (C=0.99, 0.1N HCl solution); elemental analysis (%), C 46.52, H 4.93, N 5.15, Cl 4.71, S 1.01; solubility, soluble in water and methanol, hardly soluble in acetone, insoluble in ethyl acetate, chloroform and benzene; positive to ninhydrin reaction and Leyden-Smith reaction; molecular formula, C89H99O39N8Cl3.0.5H2SO4-5H2O, etc. USE:Antibacterial agent against Gram-positive bacteria. PREPARATION:Micropolyspora sp.SANK 60983 strain (FERM BP-538) is cultured. |
