PURPOSE:To gain a light but strong valve lifter by forming hollows and ribs at least on respective parts of the back surface of a tip and the inside surface of the skirt, of a valve lifter. CONSTITUTION:Valve lifter 5 is formed in a bottom up cylinder style with a cylindrical skirt 6 that slides in a guide hole and a disc like tip 7 provided on the upper end of it. On the back surface 7a of the tip 7, tip side hollows 13 in a quarter circle shape are provided and between them cross shape ribs 14 are formed. The thickness of this tip side hollows 13 are formed thinner than the conventional one. On the inner surface of the skirt 6, hollow channels 11 are formed along the full circle at a fixed interval, and between respective adjacent skirt side hollow channels 11, a rib 12 also serving as a reinforced member is formed. |
