PURPOSE:To enhance regeneration efficiency even when a fluid to be treated is highly viscous free of the limit of the fluid to be treated and a backwashing liquid, by mixing inorg. particles in a backwashing fluid to perform backwashing. CONSTITUTION:A fluid to be treated containing a solid substance is introduced into a plurality of high gradient magnetic separators 1, and the solid substance is caught there. When the catching capacity of the magnetic separator 1 concerned is saturated, the fluid to be treated is changed over to the other magnetic separator 1' and the magnetic field of the separator 1 is released. Then, the treated fluid supplied to a backwashing fluid container 3 is preliminarily introduced into the separator 1 concerned to perform backwashing but inorg. particles comprising various ceramic particles such as alumina particles stored in a container 4 are mixed with the backwashing fluid, for example, by utilizing its own wt. The backwashing fluid having the inorg. particles mixed therein is introduced into the aforementioned separator 1 and the solid substance caught by the filter layer of said separator 1 is dispersed in the fluid by the kinetic energy possessed by said inorg. particles to perform backwashing. |
