PURPOSE:To obtain good cushion effect with a small amount of fluid by feeding the fluid to the cylinder chamber of a support tool proper located in a feed direction from a clearance in a double pipe via a flow passage on the internal pipe thereof, and supporting a material on a freely mounted support part. CONSTITUTION:A space 4 between the internal pipe 2 and the external pipe 3 of a material support tool 1 located at the back of the main spindle of a machine tool is filled with a fluid sealed or circulated with a delivery pump. And a spacer 6 is provided in a material feed direction and a support tool 5 divided into a pair symmetrical right and left at an equal interval is provided via cylinder spacer 8a, thereby forming a cylinder chamber 8 wherein a material support part 9 as a piston ring is freely coupled. And the material support part 9 receives pressure from the fluid running into the cylinder chamber 8 via flow passage 7, supports a material floatably at the concentric position of the internal pipe 2 in a radial direction, and good cushion effect can thereby obtained even with a small amount of fluid. |
