PURPOSE:To provide an economical polishing working by constituting an intersection angle and space from adjustably provided first and second spindles, a holder of first spindle for a workpiece and a polishing tool of annular elastic member of second spindle. CONSTITUTION:A rotary table and a drive table adjust precisely the radius of curvature R of working surface 27 of a workpiece 9 such that the relationship R=d/2sintheta(provided d is a distance between the polishing point of lapping body 25 and the axis 20 and theta intersection angle made between axes 15,20) is satisfied. And the first and second spindles 13,18 are respectively rotatably driven in the directions of arros 16,21 with a constant speed to polish the spherical surface of rudius of curvature R. A lapping body 25 consisting of annular elastic member constitutes a plishing tool 12 so that the spherical surface of aspheric surface can be worked with high accuracy, high efficinecy and relative low cost. |
