The invention relates to a device for automatically adjusting the orientation of lateral rear-view mirrors 4, 5. This device is characterised in that it consists of at least one manoeuvring linkage 6, 6' respectively connected via each of its ends 60, 61 with the rear-view mirrors 4, 5 of the vehicle, at a point B, B' distant from the rotational axis z-z' and interacting via its median part with the steering column 9 of this vehicle, with the surface 90 of which it is in permanent friction, any rotation of the steering column 9 giving rise to the translation of the manoeuvring linkage 6, 6' and consequently to the changing of the orientation of the rear-view mirrors 4, 5. <IMAGE>
