Gas purifier for separating polluting smoke comprising a dust separator 3 which includes, on the inside, blading 24 for imparting a helical movement to the smoke brought in at the base of the dust separator and means 22 for recovering the soot particles, characterised by a venturi tube 1, 1a fitted with a device 2, 2a for injecting an alkaline additive, the said venturi tube conducting the smoke to the blading 24 arranged between an envelope and shells 26, 26a having an axis which is offset towards ducts for recovering the treated soot particles and then towards openings of the shells 26, 26a leading to a draught chimney 4. <IMAGE>
