PURPOSE:To develop an Al alloy for photosensitive drum for copying machine capable of raising the limits of contained impurities and also capable of providing a highly machined surface with low purity at a low cost by adding specific amounts of Mg to Al and alloying them so as to disperse intermetallic compounds finely and uniformly. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy which contains, by weight, 0.7-5% Mg and in which amounts of Fe, Si, and the total of other impurities, as inevitable impurities, are regulated to <0.12%, <0.08%, and <=0.03% is refined to be formed into an extruded billet. This billet is homogenized and then subjected to extruding and to cold drawing to be formed into a round pipe-shaped product. In this way, an Al alloy member in which average grain size of an intermetallic compound in the structure is regulated to <=10mum and which is used for a photosensitive drum for amorphous silicon vapor deposition can be inexpensively obtained. |
