This optomechanical scanning system scans a region of space in two directions by means of a light beam. It includes deflecting means constituted by two mirrors 5 and 8 oscillating about axes 6 and 9 of the motors 7 and 10, which, in combination with an optical switch 2, carry out the scanning along the first and then the second of the two mutually perpendicular directions, while the axis for guiding the said system is automatically-controlled directionally by means of an optoelectric automatic-control device 18, 19, 20, 21, 22.
