The boiler/storage tank combination consists of a water-carrying casing (2) in which a storage tank (3) is arranged above the firing part (4). To optimise the heat transfer conditions, in particular with regard to temperature layering in the storage tank, a boiler/storage tank combination is provided such that the peripheral wall (1) of the water-carrying casing (2) between the storage tank and the firing part (3, 4) is of a construction which is drawn in on both sides and waisted.
