A production process for a joint is disclosed. This process comprises the provision of a joint socket (32) which has a chamber (42) with mutually opposite openings (44, 46), and of a joint shank (34) which consists of a head part (52) and a shank part (54). The joint shank (34) and joint socket (52) are aligned in such a manner that the head part (52) of the joint shank (34) is located in the chamber (42) and the shank part (54) projects through one of the openings (44). The other opening (46) of the chamber (42) is closed by means of an injection nozzle (not illustrated), which has an annular recess. Elastomer material is injected from the injection nozzle between the joint socket (32) and the joint shank (34) and into the annular recess, as long as the injection nozzle closes the opening (46). In this manner, a ring (112) is formed, which projects out of the elastomer bearing (36). The injection nozzle is drawn back from the opening (46) of the chamber (42). By pressing together a ring (112) by means of a cover (38) closing the opening (46), the elastomer bearing (36) is pretensioned. To maintain the pretension, the cover (38) is joined to the joint socket (32). <IMAGE>
