The invention relates to a dowel for the spaced securing, in an adjustable manner, of, in particular, wooden laths. In order to achieve a stable and nailable supporting of the wooden laths, the dowel comprises a slit metal sleeve and an expansion part, which can be anchored in the bore by driving in an expansion element from the free dowel end, and a relatively long portion which engages, by its end, into the wooden lath to be fastened. The end of said portion is provided with two free, inwardly bent legs, the ends of which project such that they are directed radially outwards and which form a funnel which permits a wedge element to be driven in.
