The clamp eye 1 comprises a two-part eye core 8. The eye core 8 consists of a clamping-wedge portion 9 and of a rope pulley 10 displaceable relative to the latter and rotatable about a crosspin 15. After the eye core 8 has been released from the clamping housing 3, an extended rope 2 can be drawn through the clamp eye 1 by means of a clamping-lever arrangement 28, 31 and can be shortened by the necessary amount.
