A coil former for electromagnetic, especially electrodynamic systems, for example oscillating-coil formers for loudspeakers, having a hollow-cylindrical winding former (which consists of a metal strip which is guided helically such that successive turns abut against one another) and an electrical winding which is fitted onto said winding former, the metal strip being provided with an electrically insulating coating, and the length of the metal strip being a multiple of the circumference of the winding former.
