PURPOSE:To obtain an optical system for detecting many-membered elements, which is characterized by a simple structure and low optical loss and can be attached to existing apparatuses, by the constitution wherein light beams from a plurality of light sources are inputted to the light receiving end surface of an optical fiber within the inherent cubic angle of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:Light sorces 4A and 4B and condenser lenses 5A and 5B are arranged so that light beams can be inputted to the light receiving end surface of an optical fiber 6 within a cubic angle OMEGA. The light beams are inputted to the light receiving end surface of the optical fiber 6 from the two light sources 4A and 4B, combined in the optical fiber from the two sorces 4A and 4B, combined in the optical fiber 6, and guided to an element detecting part 8 through a lens 7. The optical fiber can be used at a bent state, and its length can be selected appropriately. Therefore the light sources 4A and 4B and the condenser lenses 5A and 5B are not necessarily arranged at specified positions determind by the element detecting part 8 as in the conventional case. This system can be readily attached to any apparatus and applied to the case where sufficient space for attaching the optical system in the vicinity of an attching port cannot be obtained. |
