PESTICIDAL NITROMETHANE DERIVATIVES

Sulphenyl nitromethane derivatives of formula: I in which R1 represents an alkyl group or a cycloalkyl-alkyl group; and R2 represents an alkyl group optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms or an aryl group optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms or by one or more alkyl or alkoxy groups, exhibit pesticidal, in particular insecticidal activity. They are prepared by reacting the corresponding nitromethylene carboxylate with a sulphenyl halide R2-S-Hal in the presence of a base.
